H2H Color Challenge

I decided to do a quick card for the Heart to Heart  color  challenge this week ...while it was still Monday,  but I found the colors to be difficult . I only have gypsy from the Hooligans (halloweenish) paper pack and I didn't think it looked good with creme brulee.  I ended up using a piece of plain gypsy cardstock, crumpled and inked it, then colored some paper with the reinker and our new spray bottle. Mixing rubbing alcohol and the re-inker means instant color and INSTANT DRY.  I love that.

I also am loving the new Universal Backgrounds stamp set - I used the script for the flowers and the music notes for background on the card.  And dontcha just love the new ribbon????  Thanks for stopping by!  Marie with a :)

Grad Card Samples....(CPS 207)

I spent a little time in the craft room after church and dinner with my family and before spending some frivolous time watching Good Luck Charlie with my gang.  Maybe it was more therapeutic than frivolous since we laughed so hard that tears turned my mascara'd eyes into raccoon eyes...and the Bible does tell  us that laughter is a good medicine! Anyway, I managed to accomplish 3 samples for a graduation invitation order; I used the CPS 207 Sketch for the first one.

I embossed and "raised"  all of the main graduation caps.

CAS 129

Needed a little craft room time before spending the day sitting for Mock Trial competition so I used the Clean and Simple 129 sketch for a quick and easy card:

Here's a couple other cards created for some card orders:

This Is My Story Scrapbook

A dear friend and I have started the Lisa Whelchel Scrapbook Bible Study called "This is My Story."  It's supposed to be a six week study but we decided with how long it takes us to create a layout, it will be a twelve to twenty-four week study for us!  Here's my first layout which tells about my name (it's not finished - still needs the photos and journaling.)  I'm really hoping to persuade the HH to create a scrapbook about himself as well.
I'm glad that I embossed a few extra butterflies when I made my Unscripted Card the other day. They came in handy on this layout because I think the butterfly signifies change/transformation and I am planning on journaling about transformation.

and this last photo is of my sweet friend Sandra who is doing the Bible study with me.

Tired of the Cold?

That's the focus of this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge. You should head over and enter a card yourself for a chance to win some great CTMH products.  Here in Colorado, I've been enjoying some beautiful weather...and put away my winter stamps last month. (Typically March is our snowiest month though.)  So I perused my stamps to see what might speak "cold" to me and I decided on the couch from the Welcome Home set...because cold weather just might find me curled up on the couch with a book.
the inside reads: thinking of you

Unscripted 94

My craft room is clean!
The HH helped me do some rearranging today and though A LOT of work, I ended up with a clean craft room...couldn't very well leave it that way could I?
So I started with the Unscripted Sketch and plan on spending a couple more hours making a mess cards.

I mentioned that I have recently started embossing a whole lot more.  I purchased my first embossing powders from Close To My Heart to see how "we" compared to the rest of the powders.  I'm happy to report: WE ROCK THE EMBOSSING POWDERS!
I used the new Wings paper and the Wings Creative Basic paper, the Celebrate Life SS (recently retired I think :(  ) and For Every Occasion SS.

Clean and Simple 128

Since receiving a Kindle (with hundreds of books already on it!) I've been finding it a challenge to get any crafting done!  I decided I would take a few minutes to do the Clean and Simple sketch for this week...but you know how that goes! By the time you make a card, upload photos and edit them...well more than a few minutes has passed! Here's my take, along with a couple other cards I haven't yet posted:

Even though I have had an embossing kit/gun for more than a decade, I rarely use it.  The past week or so I have been bitten by the embossing bug though and both the top and middle cards are embossed with a metallic copper.  Let me know if you have any questions!

It's difficult to tell in the other photo, but the roses are outlined with gold glitter.

Heart 2 Heart Valentine's Day Challenge

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart  is "show us your heart."
Here are a few Valentine's cards "with heart" that I made:

I used embossing and watercolor for this one.

A very simple easel card that we made at my monthly kit club.

A masculine easel Valentine for my HH

The heart and key were both embossed.  I also used our spray pen.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow...

I thought my last post (Tack It To The Wall) was a trip down memory lane...until I started this layout! When I started this one, I decided to look through some old writings for a "winter poem" and all I can say is wow. This layout took me longer than any other I've ever done and it's one of my simplest ones ever.  I'm going to write out the poem in the larger circle on the right page. You can click the photos to enlarge.

I couldn't figure out what to do for clock hands on the Tim Holttz metal clock and finally decided not to do any and just hide where the hands might be :)

I'm so technoloigcally challenged...couldn't figure out how to flip this picture.
