And the winner is....

Alanna from http://damoses.blogspot.com/

I've left a comment for Alanna, who interestingly enough is from my current home state of beautiful Colorado! Alanna, you'll need to e-mail me your mailing address.
I'm discovering more and more of my blogging friends from this great state...we'll have to plan a scrapbook/papercraft retreat sometime so we can all meet in person.

Mojo 91, masculine cards

Okay, it's late and past my bedtime...my dad and stepmom arrive tomorrow and I have a house to clean, groceries to get, errands to run PLUS I promised to take the kids to the pool...so why am I creating a mojo card??? "Hi, my name is Marie and I'm a sketchaholic?" LOL . This is probably my wonderful hubby's Father's Day card. The second card is a masculine birthday card. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back...with CPS 120

Those who follow my rambling thoughts blog have probably already figured out why I haven't posted anything for the past couple of days...I have been trying to nurse Alyssa through a broken heart. We've kept busy going to the pool, and on long walks and watching movies but unfortunately, the hurt isn't subsiding. And you know how it is as a mother...a child's pain is magnified in your own heart. I don't know who has shed more tears...Alyssa or me. I made this card for her with the CPS 120 sketch. The butterflies are a reminder that struggles and pain do result in something beautiful if we allow them to; the scripture is a reminder that while mankind may let us down, there is One that we can put our complete trust in and know that He never fails. I won't give it to her just yet...the pain is still too raw ...maybe in a few days...or weeks...

PS Don't forget to check out my blog candy . Also, a welcome to my new followers...my work is simple and I'm honored to have you visit my site!

BLOG CANDY

Today I reached over 3,000 hits to my blog since February! When I began blogging in January, I had no clue what I was doing. I was simply responding to the request of a couple friends who wanted me to post my work (and I didn't want to continue to post on facebook ) In February I decided to add a counter. I'm one of those obsessive/compulsive people who likes to do things precisely. For example, if I say I am going to ride my stationary bike for 45 minutes, riding for 44 minutes doesn't cut it. Or when my husband and I walk together and he wants to stop ten feet short of my usual turning point, I look at him as though he has just suggested we shave our heads...not going to happen! Obsessive/compulsive or not, I chose sitemeter (http://www.sitemeter.com/ ) for my counter because you can set it to ignore your own visits...that way I would know exactly how many VISITORS stopped by.
I am very grateful for all of the kind words and for all of the blogging friends I have made in the past few months. I love seeing your artwork and sharing bits and pieces of your lives. To celebrate, I am going to offer blog candy (took me a long time to figure out what that meant!) For the next ten days, if you leave a comment and link to this post, your name will go in a drawing. On June 18th I will have one of my children draw a name (unless I figure out how to use one of those random drawing thingies :-) ) The blog candy will be one Close To My Heart stamp set of your choice...any size! (Up to a $22.95 value for the stamps) In addition, you will receive one paperpack of your choice. ($12.95 value) To see the various stamps and papers, you can check out my website: marieisom@myCTMH.com

PS All of my followers will have their names put in a second time so that they have TWO chances to win.

Marie with a big :-)

Another PS I just realized that not all of the people who visit my blog regularly have their own blog. Soooo, if you e-mail me a comment to let me know you are visiting my site, I will include your name in the drawing. And finally...my actual numbers for card sales since April 4th is 272...I thought it was closer to 300 but I was wrong!

The Laugh's On Me...

I have thought it pretty funny the many comments I have received about making a cards quickly...but last night the laugh was on me! Despite two hours in the craft room, the muse still hadn't shown up and I couldn't for the life of me come up with a Father's Day card. This first card is my pitiful attempt. The others are some graduation cards...a couple of them came from my stash that I was able to convert to grad cards...I think it's always a good idea to have some versatile cards on hand. I love the bunnies jumping on the bed stamp and think it has lots of potential...birthday, graduation, or as my girls suggested...a sleepover invitation :-). I have 13 more cards to make in the next two days so I will be busy...but I still hope to have time to peruse the blogs of my "buddies" and see what others have been up to. Thanks for stopping by :-)

PS I am now up to almost 300 cards sold :-)
