Nostalgia (Close To My Heart Has Outdone Themselves With Olivia!)

I spent the first 18 years of my  life in Vermont, before the Air Force brought me not only to other states, but other countries. Every place that I have lived or visited since leaving the Green Mountain State has brought delight and joy and growth and tremendous blessings.  The older I get, though, the more the seeds of nostalgia grow.  I long for winding dirt roads that lead a long way to nowhere-in-particular, for trees that don their ball gowns every autumn and woo the coldest of hearts, for little towns and general stores. Sometimes, however, when you are a parent, you put your longings aside for what is best for your children. At this moment in time, Colorado is the place where my children  need to be. (And don't misunderstand me...I LOVE Colorado...there's just been a soft breeze whispering "Vermont" to my spirit over the last couple of years.)  The HH also loved what he saw of Vermont and wouldn't mind packing up and heading North East. I've reconnected with a number of high school friends that I would love to spend more time with. Someday perhaps, after the kids graduate.
One of the new paper packs from Close To My Heart, Olivia, (item # X7128B)  reminds me of Vermont in the fall - it's a blend of gorgeous New England Ivy, Sunset, Barn Red and Smoothie.  I can't seem to get enough of it!  I made a card for my mom, and then went on to make quite a number of other cards: Here's a few of them:

The cards are 4" x 8.5" and fit perfectly into business letter envelopes (even if they don't photograph well!)

The leaf stamps are from an exclusive set that is part of the Olivia Kit of the Month, item # G1013

Thanks for stopping by,
Marie with a :)

I love all these cards you made with the Olivia papers. Great use of stamps!

The "coasters" in my Brayen project were the heavy weight chipboard/coasters that were in the blog candy package I won from you in recent months. Thanks!
