Nifty Fifty Blog Hop For Christi!

This uses one of my favorite CTMH paper packs!

I want to be just like Pat when I grow up.
Let me explain. I've met some wonderful people in the blogging world, one of them is Christi, a very talented Christian blogger.  Her works are amazing.  But I think even more amazing is her mom, Pat,  and I cried when I received an e-mail from her (Pat) explaining that although she was out of state, she wanted to do something special for Christi's 50th birthday.  So she asked some of her daughter's blogging friends to create a card and to send Christi 50 of "anything" (sticks of gum, buttons, whatever) wrapped in black.  Then she set up a blog hop to surprise Christi.  What an awesome mom.
I don't know if it was because I wanted to make something extra special, or if it was because I knew of the very talented ladies participating....whatever the reason I seemed to "lose the muse" and this is what I came up with.  While humble in creation, it is filled with lotsa love, Christi, and prayers for a wonderful day and year, filled with the blessings of the Lord.  Happy, Happy birthday to you!
Marie with a :-)
PS Christi, the other day you expressed surprise to find me still blogging after I said I was going to give up this blog.  LOL - I got your mom's e-mail right after that and that is why I kept it open - to participate in this hop! If you've been following my other blog at all, It's a Wonderful Life!" you won't be overly surprised to learn that my gift and card will arrive late...

PS You should have arrived here from Cammie's blog and should next go to Mary Ellen's blog

I, for one, am very glad you didn't give up on your blog! It's LOVELY here! You are far too, "aw shucks" about your creation ~ YOU ARE VERY TALENTED! Your work is lovely and so heartfelt! I was a little daunted, too, by the "black" gift thing, etc., I tried to use predominantly black in my card, but it was a no go! Sometimes, creativity forces our direction! Either way.. we MADE IT! *Phew!* The sentiment, detail, colors and ESPECIALLY the thoughtfulness really shine through on your card, embellished box, gifites and post ~ I'm thinking Christi is going to be THRILLED! As am I, since, I got to "meet" you via this beautiful birthday blog-hop! Bravo!

Marie, I'm with you. My mom is hands-down the most wonderful mom in the world (I realize I may be a bit biased here, so don't everyone start throwing tomatoes at me now). I want to be just like my mom when I grow up too (trouble is, I'm likely just about as grown up as I'm gonna get and I'm still fallin' short). On the other hand, I have no doubt that you are going to be just like my mom when you grow up (you're nicer than I am). Knowing how you love and are there for all your kids...through thick and thin...it's pretty much a given. ;)

So now that you've started my waterworks flowing again...can I just say (respectfully, of course) that you're nuts. lol Your muse is right where you need it to be --your card and matching tin are absolutely beautiful! The colors you chose happen to be some of my go-to colors at the moment (they remind me of my mom), the Scripture verses, flourishes, pearls, and the rhinestone flowers all work wonderfully together! The (50?) flowers are pretty too and it would appear that I'm going to be up to my eyeballs in buttons and flowers in the near future so I guess I'd better start using them more! ;)

I am most blessed by this extravagant show of kindness to me today (guess it pays to be old? lol), and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to be a part of it (especially since it meant you had to keep your blog up and running just for that reason...though I sincerely hope that you'll hang onto it --like Sarah said, the blue moon is worth waiting for).

I haven't been blogging --posting, reading, or commenting-- much these last few months, so I haven't been to your other blog in a while. I will soon though, and hope all is well and that your comment was made because you're just super busy...in a good way...with everything in your life.

Thanks again, Marie. We'll definitely have to meet in person one day.

Blessings to you!
