Hawaii Layout

I've really been depending on sketches a lot so decided to see what I could throw together on my own tonight. I have been wanting to scrap some of Alyssa's Hawaii pictures but needed to wait until she was ready. I think she's finally at that place.

This sentiment (from the CTMH stamp set is Adventure) is such a good reminder!

Unscripted Sketches 15 and "scrap" cards

Today was a pretty mellow day - but I didn't get much crafting done. Saturday means Unscripted Sketches, which I really look forward to. I love the sketches and the designers are so nice. Here's my take on sketch 15 :
My friend Theda just organized her new craft room...which reminded me just how chaotic mine is. While attempting some tidying last night, I used some scraps and die cuts to put together a couple of cards:

You can't tell from the photo, but I sprayed the die cut frame with shimmer mist (I went shopping at Archivers last night...I can't wait to try some of my new finds!)

Letter to my friend...mojo 95

It was somewhat of an emotionally exhausting day today, but I still scrounged up a bit of the muse to complete the Mojo 95 challenge. Now I'm going to keep myself awake for another hour until I need to go pick kids up from the bowling alley. I should use the time to clean my craft room but I think I'll watch a movie with Elizabeth instead :-)

I can't believe it has been four weeks since I have taken part in the Card Positioning Sketch challenge. I had a hard time even finding where anything was in my craft room...which is still a disaster!
Not too long ago, Alyssa thanked Scott and I for being there when she needs us. I thought that was a good sentiment to put on a card. Here's my take on sketch 124:

Mojo 94...for a precious friend

I'll soon be heading out the door to meet some friends from the home school co-op that we participated in, for a Moms Night Out dinner at MiMi's Cafe. We will be celebrating one of the mom's, who is a very precious friend to me. I created a last minute birthday card for her (didn't want to just use one from my HUGE stash...) using the Mojo 94 sketch for my inspiration. Thanks for looking...and thanks to my wonderful blogging friends and followers for not giving up on me during my month long hiatus :-) . I appreciate you!

July Calendar Page...a little late

I finished my 2009 calendar back in December, but for whatever reason, never completed the July page. Since we are more than a quarter of the way through July, I figured I better get busy! I used 52 Sketches #27 to give me a jump start. This showcases a picture from February 14, 2008 - the day my son arrived home after spending a year in Iraq. I was one happy mom!

I had a Close To My Heart order come in yesterday and was really bummed that none of it was for me! But Alanna's candy should be on the way on Friday, and one of my dearest friends purchased the Wishes book and is giving me a chance to peruse it this week, so I am excited about that.

Toe in the water...

Okay, so I'm not quite ready to dive back into the craft room, but I did make a quick fourth of July card using Unscripted Sketches. Hope everyone has a wonderful fourth of July! We are going to grill burgers with friends, play some games before viewing fireworks and then go bowling :-)
